ISABELLA SANTONI

ISABELLA SANTONI

Born on May 6, 1995, Isabella Santoni started in theater when she was still a child, at the age of 7. However, it was only at the age of 15, after a vacation course at Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras, that she was sure she would follow the path of arts in her professional life. Always dedicated, she started doing modeling jobs to pay for several other acting courses.

At 18, she made her debut on the big screen playing the main character Bel in the independent feature film “Visceral,” directed by Thomas Vannucci. In the same year, she participated in the web series “Lindas e Tensas” and entered Unirio (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro) to study Scenic Arts.

Reconciling her studies with her profession, Isabella was cast in the episode “Laura, A Filha Fiel” in the second season of the series “As Canalhas” (GNT), directed by cinematographer Vicente Amorim. She was then approved for the role that has already launched her into stardom: the fighter Karina in the soap opera “Malhação Sonhos” (Globo). The character earned her several awards, including National Actress at the Capricho Awards, Revelation of the Year at the Troféu Imprensa, and Best New Actress at Globo’s Melhores do Ano. Still in 2014, she also participated in the web series “Curriculum Vitae: Live the Best Years of Your Life.”

Taking on central roles in productions well received by the general public and critics, the artist made a special appearance in the miniseries “Ligações Perigosas” (Globo), playing the young version of the protagonist Isabel, portrayed by Patrícia Pillar. Marking her professional debut in theaters and returning to acting alongside Bruna Hamú, who played her sister in “Malhação,” Santoni starred in the musical “Cinco Julias,” directed by Matheus Souza, responsible for the script of the film “Confissões de Adolescente.” In addition to the first play, the year 2016 also brought the actress her first work in prime time when she portrayed Leticia in the second phase of the soap opera “A Lei do Amor” (Globo). In the plot, the character who overcame leukemia is the daughter of Claudia Abreu and Reynaldo Gianecchini’s characters.

After finishing the recordings of Maria Adelaide Amaral and Vincent Villari’s plot, Isabella returns to the stage starring in the play “Léo e Bia” (2017), directed by Leonardo Talarico, which tells the story of Oswaldo Montenegro. Then, she receives an invitation to join the team of the 14th season of “Dança dos Famosos” on the program Domingão do Faustão (Globo). A year and a half after her last soap opera, the actress returns to the big screen as Charlotte Williamson, her first period role, in the soap opera “Pride and Passion” (Globo).

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Isabella participated in the web series “Quarantined” and, after taking courses and receiving entrepreneurship mentoring, she launched her beachwear brand ‘NIA’ in December 2020. With it, the entrepreneur highlights the importance of diversity, not only by making pieces available from XS to XG but also by featuring plural women in her campaigns. So far, she has included black, white, yellow, trans, and vitiligo-affected women.

In June 2021, the actress returned to work with two premieres. Giving life to Viviane, Isabella lands on Amazon Prime Video with a prominent role in the series “Dom.” The plot is inspired by the life of Pedro Dom, a gang leader who terrorized Rio de Janeiro in the 2000s and became known as the “cat bandit,” while Viviane was a criminal partner in his scams and the protagonist’s love affair. In the movies, she starred with Lucas Salles in the film “Mission Cupid,” directed by Rodrigo Bittencourt and scripted by him in partnership with André Pellegrino and João Santanna.

Passionate about surfing, she has always prioritized environmental agendas and has intensified her connection with the environment through her involvement in the sport. Supporting projects such as “Route,” “Salvemos São Conrado,” and “Seu Lixo Meu,” Isabella launched the “Pegada do Bem” project in 2018. The project promotes beach cleaning actions with environmental education activities. Currently, Santoni is part of the “Canal Novo Mundo” team, a volunteer project of socio-environmental impact that was founded in 2015. With the Shell Young Initiative Sustainable Company seal, the project promotes awareness through environmental education and community engagement actions. The movement has already mobilized more than 1,000 volunteers and carried out more than 200 cleanup actions across the country!

Dividing her time between her brand NIA and her acting career, Isabella, who is fluent in English, started Spanish classes in 2022. In the middle of the same year, the artist was also confirmed for the fourth season of Globoplay’s “The Division.” As if that were not enough, the series “Dom,” which features Isabella in the role of Viviane, had the launch of its second season in March 2023, with the third season already confirmed!
